My highlight of the summer was definitely going to Kamp.  I must say, finishing that triathalon at K-2 3rd Term Triathlete was a great moment.  The counselors were incredible!  They never gave up on anyone and always kept everyone in high spirits.  If I remember right, I think the whole time I was thinking Phillipians 4:13:  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  It’s amazing how true that verse is.  My peak memory was when everyone at Kamp went to the church and we saw the movie of the Christmas in Haiti and scenes from the Passion of the Christ—we talked about having our sins nailed to the cross, and it was because of us that Christ was crucified  My favorite day had to have been my first day at Kamp, getting to see all of my friends and getting to know new friends who I would be sharing the whole 225 days with.  Well, it was either that day of the night that my whole cabin went down and rang the bell like crazy because we were so happy the 2 or 3 people in our cabin had accepted Christ again.

“I wanted to tell you that Kamp changed my life completely. During your talk about chaining yourself to God, something inside of me clicked and my life turned a 180.   Since that night I have felt so close to God everyday, and have tried to live my life according to what He wants. I carry that chain link on my car keys so I am reminded everyday of what happened to my life at Kamp”

I really enjoyed my vacation in your Kamp.  I don’t have a favorite day. I loved all days spent playing and having fun with the other guys and the tutors.  I learned English quite good but more I learned how to live with American people and Christian people.

“The highlight of my summer was when I got to be a junior counselor at K-Kountry and hang out with some of the coolest kids on the face of the earth. My favorite memory came when I was just learning how to teach kids and play with them. I had a kid who was homesick and crying and on the sidelines. I didn’t really know what to say to him so I said, “Sammy, why don’t you play the game and have fun right now and after we’re done you can cry.”  He looked up at me with watery eyes and said, “Okay, but I don’t know how much fun I’ll have.” And he and I played soccer and he had a blast and I didn’t see him cry the rest of the term.”
